Frequently Asked Questions

What does Baan RetireEase Thailand actually do?

We are a consultancy, not a directory. We help British families find and arrange quality, affordable care in Thailand — covering cost planning, dementia and memory care, one-to-one live-in care, and choosing the right location. We take time to understand your loved one's needs, present a shortlist of vetted providers with honest pros, cons, and full pricing, and support you through introductions and the move.

Is it free to enquire?

Yes. Our consultation and guidance are completely free to your family — you pay us nothing. We start with a conversation rather than forms or pressure, so you can explore whether care in Thailand is right for your situation before committing to anything. If we do not think Thailand, or a particular provider, is the right fit, we will tell you honestly.

How are you paid if the service is free?

Where a family chooses to proceed with a provider we have introduced, we may receive a referral fee from that provider. This never increases the price you pay — there is no markup — and it never influences our recommendations. We only introduce providers that pass our vetting, and our advice stays independent and impartial regardless of which option you choose.

How do you vet care providers?

We only recommend providers that pass our 40-point vetting checklist, which covers staff qualifications, safety, and care plans. Because we are independent, we are free to turn away providers that do not meet the standard. This means the shortlist we present has already been screened on the ground, saving you from assessing unknown facilities from thousands of miles away.

What does the process look like from start to finish?

It runs in four stages. First, a free consultation to understand needs, location preferences, and budget. Second, a tailored shortlist of two to three vetted options with honest pros, cons, and full pricing. Third, guided introductions through video calls or in-person visits, with us alongside you during assessment. Finally, ongoing support after placement — quarterly check-ins, help with visa renewals, and a direct line if anything needs addressing.

What types of care can you arrange?

We can arrange residential and nursing care, specialist dementia and memory care, and dedicated one-to-one live-in care in your own home or villa. We also advise on the best Thai locations for your needs — from Chiang Mai and Bangkok to coastal towns such as Hua Hin and Pattaya — matching care type, budget, climate, and hospital access to your family's priorities.
